Family Treatment Guidance
Family Treatment Guidance is the term Bowsprit Consulting uses in place of what is commonly called "Parent Training," and the distinction matters. Parents don't need training on how to be a parent, they need support in adjusting how they interact with their child so that everyday moments become opportunities for growth. Family Treatment Guidance reflects this philosophy: it centers the family's existing routines and relationships, equipping caregivers with practical, individualized strategies to help their child navigate challenges and build new skills during the natural flow of daily life, rather than treating parents as recipients of instruction on parenting itself.

We are thrilled to grow our partnership with Rowan University! By supervising students in the Center for Behavior Analysis, Bowsprit Consulting is helping shape the next generation of practitioners.
Services are provided by graduate students in our Applied Behavior Analysis program at Rowan, working under close clinical supervision as they deliver care rooted in Naturalistic Developmental Behavioral Intervention (NDBI). This approach blends the effectiveness of applied behavior analysis with natural, play based learning, embedding intervention within child led play and everyday routines so that skills are built in the same context in which children will actually use them.
Our on-campus clinic is currently undergoing a total renovation to better serve our community, and we can't wait to welcome you to our Grand Opening in late fall of 2026.
Social Groups
Our social skills groups help children build the tools to form meaningful friendships. Children learn best through doing, so sessions center on natural play and everyday activities with similar age peers rather than lectures or worksheets. In these real world interactions, children practice essential skills like initiating conversation, taking turns, reading social cues, and navigating the small conflicts that come with any friendship. Because these skills are built alongside peers facing similar challenges, children can carry what they learn into the relationships that matter most, at school, on the playground, and at home.
